The Alkmaarder and Uitgeestermeer offer plenty of recreational opportunities: sailing, water skiing, surfing, swimming and boat rental. Via the lakes you can sail by boat towards Alkmaar or follow the river Zaan to Amsterdam. The surrounding nature has unique flora and fauna and yet you live close to the center of Uitgeest and the A9 highway (Alkmaar-Amsterdam).
